Stephanie von Aretin was born in Munich and studied political science in Washington D.C. as well as at the London School of Economics (LSE). She is a trained journalist and editor and has published in the Süddeutsche Zeitung and spiegel online, among others, as well as travel guides for Dumont and 360° Medien.

Stephanie has been working in development cooperation since 2014. She led multinational project teams and was responsible for public relations, reporting and donor communication. Since 2023, she has been supporting and advising business cooperation in developing countries as a Business Scout for Development at the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

She has four children and lives with her husband in Leipzig.
